A DELEGATION LED BY THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMITTEE VISITED THE COUNTRY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 92ND GENERAL SESSION OF THE WORLD ORGANIZATION FOR ANIMAL HEALTH, WHICH WILL BE HELD IN PARIS FROM MAY 25 TO 30 OF THIS YEAR.
During the visit, a bilateral meeting was held between the Chairman of the Committee, Bakhrom Norqobilov, and the Director General of the WHO, Emmanuel Subeyran.
The meeting discussed issues of further strengthening friendly and productive relations between the parties.
It was also agreed to involve WHO experts in Uzbekistan to obtain the status of a "disease-free territory" for highly pathogenic avian influenza and animal protein diseases.
The Chairman of the Committee initiated the adoption of a resolution to include the "Model WOAH" program in the recommended first-day competencies of the WHO for veterinary education, and this proposal was supported by the Director General of the WHO.
