An important historical initiative was implemented during the science, research and education session of the international forum "Italy - Central Asia (C5) + Azerbaijan" held in our capital. It was established to strengthen cooperation in the areas of climate resilience, food security and food technologies.

The new alliance will serve to expand cooperation in the fields of science, education and innovation, develop science-based solutions to current problems and strengthen regional integration.

As part of the initiative, a number of agreements were signed between leading higher education and scientific institutions of Italy and Uzbekistan, including the Italian Council for Agricultural Research and Economics (CREA) and the Department of Biology, Agricultural and Food Sciences of the National Research Council. These documents created a solid legal and organizational basis for the activities of the alliance.

Within the framework of the alliance, joint scientific research will be carried out in the areas of adaptation to climate change, efficient use of water and land resources, ensuring food security, and developing modern food technologies. In addition, the exchange of students and scientists, the establishment of joint educational programs, and the implementation of innovative developments in practice have been identified as priority tasks.

In addition, 17 documents were signed between Italy and Uzbekistan in the field of agricultural education.
This alliance, along with taking scientific cooperation to a new level, will serve as an important platform for ensuring sustainable development, food security, and environmental sustainability in the region.
