A round table discussion on the topic of combating corruption was held within the framework of the "Anti-Corruption Month" dedicated to "December 9 - International Anti-Corruption Day", approved by the Minutes No. 10 of the meeting of the National Anti- Corruption Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 23, 2023.
Corruption is one of the global problems that must be solved worldwide. This scourge seriously undermines the political and economic development of any state and society, and leads to the violation of human rights and freedoms.
A round table discussion was organized with students of the correspondence department of the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnologies (120 people in total) in cooperation with the Head of the Department of Management of the Anti-Corruption System "COMPLIANCE CONTROL" of the University, F. Turayev, and the Rector's Advisor for Ensuring the Stability of the Social and Spiritual Environment among Students, Z. Shodmonov. It was noted that legal education and upbringing in the field of combating corruption in educational institutions is one of the important tasks of today, because people with high legal awareness and legal culture and mature in terms of legal education and upbringing do not allow corruption, which is a negative vice, that corruption is a terrible vice that can torment society in various ways, and that this vice undermines the foundations of democracy and the rule of law. F. Turayev emphasized in his speech: "Corruption is a force that holds back the development of the country and endangers the future, especially in the field of education, which is one of the urgent issues facing our country, which today has as its main goal the training of qualified specialists and world-class personnel.
He also emphasized that every country that has chosen the path of development and progress in the world must first of all wage an uncompromising fight against such negative vices as corruption, greed, and bribery. In this round table discussion, which was held to form an uncompromising attitude against corruption among students and youth, students actively participated with their opinions.
Students actively participated in these promotional events and received information about what to do when witnessing or directly encountering corruption in the educational process and other areas of social life, and expressed their personal opinions within the framework of the topic and They received relevant answers to their questions.
