TODAY IS WORLD VETERINARY DAY.

Hello, dear university staff, professors, teachers and students! I sincerely congratulate you on the holiday of "International Veterinary Day"!
As you all know, in order to instill in society the importance of the veterinary profession and its significance in the development of humanity, to raise the prestige of veterinary organizations and veterinarians, in 2000, at the initiative of the International Veterinary Association and the International Organization for Animal Health, a decision was made to designate the last Saturday of April as "International Veterinary Day". Every year this day is celebrated as a holiday in many countries.
The veterinary sector, along with maintaining animal health, plays an important role in protecting the population from diseases common to humans and animals.

In the work carried out by veterinarians around the world to maintain animal health, human health is ultimately in the spotlight.

In the delivery of food products to the population, from farm to table, the veterinarian plays a key role. And this process is unimaginable without the devotees of the profession.

Our country has long been a place of master livestock breeders. A large school has been created in all types of cattle breeding, horse breeding, poultry farming, fishing, beekeeping. The knowledge and skills accumulated in these areas have been recognized as a criterion for the well-being of our people for thousands of years.

The development of veterinary infrastructure in our country serves to ensure epizootic and epidemic stability in the regions, provide the population with safe and edible food products, and develop international trade relations.

Today, the veterinary profession is recognized as a sector that ensures food security in the world. Also, in developed countries, high salaries are paid to owners of this profession.

Veterinary specialists are trained in our country at the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology. Today, about 6,000 students are studying at the university's 6 faculties. The university has signed memorandums of cooperation with more than 80 leading higher educational institutions of the world. As a result of this cooperation, students and professors of the university are sent abroad to study and improve their skills. A technical school and an academic lyceum operate under the Nukus and Tashkent branches of the university and the educational institution.

There are many future plans and projects that are planned to be implemented in the future. These projects will undoubtedly serve to improve the well-being of our people and ensure food security.

Taking this opportunity, on behalf of the team of the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology, I would like to congratulate the representatives of the industry, officials and specialists of our country on the International Veterinary Day!

Good luck in your responsible and honorable profession!

Khudaynazar YUNUSOV,
