The Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Livestock and Biotechnology hosted a republican scientific and practical conference on the topic “The role of veterinary and sanitary control in ensuring the quality and food safety of livestock products”.

Opening the conference with an introductory speech, the rector of the university, Professor Khudaynazar Yunusov, emphasized that today ensuring food safety is one of the strategic priorities of every state, that the healthy nutrition of the population is directly related, first of all, to the quality and safety of livestock products, and in this regard, the veterinary and sanitary control system plays an important role.

He wished success to the conference, noting that the decisions and documents adopted by our government and the issues considered at this conference can serve as an important legal basis for strengthening veterinary and sanitary control, improving the quality of livestock products, and providing the population with safe food. Also during the conference, the head of the “Department for the Development of Science and Education” of the Committee for the Development of Veterinary and Livestock of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Safarov, head of the Department of Veterinary Sanitation of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, candidate of veterinary sciences, associate professor M. Tokayeva, associate professor of the Faculty of Veterinary Zooengineering of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University M. Barakhov, and professor of the university Q. Norboyev expressed their opinions on the topic, noting that livestock products - meat, milk, eggs and other food products - are a source of nutrients necessary for the human body, but if these products are not adequately controlled, various infectious and invasive diseases, especially zoonotic diseases, can spread through them, which poses a serious threat to human health, veterinary and sanitary control covers all stages of livestock production, from production to delivery to the consumer, this system monitors animal health and prevents diseases, and products are subject to veterinary were examined and sanitary and hygienic requirements were ensured.

During the conference, speakers gave reports on such topics as “Episozoology of varroatosis in bees and veterinary sanitary assessment of honey”, “Veterinary sanitary assessment of fish meat infected with saprolignosis”, “Current tasks of detecting echinococcosis and sanitary assessment in ensuring the safety of livestock products” and “Veterinary and sanitary examination of honey after treatment and prevention of invasive diseases of bees”.
The conference continued its work, divided into sections such as “Solutions to local and global problems of food products” and “Modern methods of food testing”.
