GERMANY'S FEDERAL DEPUTY MINISTER OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE AT OUR UNIVERSITY



A delegation led by Dr. Ophelia Nick, the German Federal Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, visited our university.

The purpose of the delegation is to hold negotiations on further expansion of cooperation between Germany and Uzbekistan in the fields of veterinary and animal husbandry and the first stage of the grant project "Joint development of sustainable and climate-adapted agriculture" implemented with the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture  ” is a close acquaintance with the activities being carried out.

The rector of the university, professor H. Yunusov and the responsible persons who welcomed the members of the delegation, first introduced the types and varieties of fodder crops grown in small experimental areas, plants grown in the greenhouse, and animal species kept in the vivarium in order to familiarize them with the work being carried out in the university on the subject.  .
After that, the rector of the university, professor H. Yunusov, gave detailed information about the work done on growing climate-adapted animal feed within the framework of the "Mega-project" launched at the university in the "Hall of Activists", the German Deputy Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr.  Ophelia explained to Nick the purpose of the visit.

Also, doctor of veterinary sciences, professor R. Davlatov gave a presentation on "Development of the livestock sector in Uzbekistan", Dr. Klyus, an employee of the Friedrich-Loeffler Institute, on "Optimal nutrition and animal health in arid regions", international expert of AFC organization Dr.  Van Engelen gave a lecture on "Regenerative fodder production to ensure milk production in Uzbekistan".
The roundtable discussion was more interesting with the questions sent by university professors and students.

At the end of the event, it was agreed that professors, undergraduates, researchers and students will participate in these cooperation projects.
